A pinhole viewer is a simplified camera, using only a film canister with a hole poked into it as an aperature and semi-opaque tape as a viewing screen. Light will travel through the aperature and create a reverse image on the screen. The image will be upside down, because light traveling in a straight line through a small aperture flips the image.
These are the materials used to make a pinhole viewer. They are: black film canister, semi-opaque magic scotch tape, and black paper.
Poke a hole in the center of the bottom of the film canister with a tack.
Place two pieces of scotch tape over the opening of the film canister. This will be your viewing screen.
Put the black paper around the opening of the film canister, so that no light can come in. Point the viewer to a well lighted area and look through the paper tube. You will see the upside down image projected on the screen.
