Visual

I have many visual inspirations, some photographers, some painters and graphic artists. My favorite photographers are: Henri Cartier-Bresson, Andre Kertesz, Robert Frank, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Robert Capa and Ansel Adams. As you noticed, all of them are documentary photographers or photjournalists except for Ansel Adams. That too has to do with my career choice. I am interested in becoming a journalist/photojournalist. i like Ansel Adams because I've seen his photos since I was small and because Yosemite is one of my favorite places in the world. My favorite painters are Edward Hopper, Ben Shahn, Renoir, and Georgia O'Keefe. All these artists go along with my interest in documentary art. All these painters, except Renoir, were highly active during the depression, especially Shahn who was a member of the FSA. My favorite graphic artists are Ed Fotheringham, Art Chantry, Stanley Mouse, Frank Kozik, and Joe Newton. They all primarily do record album covers for independent bands, except for Mouse who is famous for his hot rod and monster art during the fifties and his psychadelic posters during the sixties. Fotheringham, Chantry and Newton are all from the Seattle area and Kozik is from San Francisco. Together, they do almost all art for Sub Pop, Estrus, Man's Ruin, Super Electro and Empty, which are all record labels. two other good artists are Coop and Peter Bagge.
